Andrea Joy Cook
A.J. Cook is a Canadian actress best well-known for her appearances in the feature films The Virgin Suicides (1999) as well as Final Destination 2 (2003) in addition to her part in the role of Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau on the TV drama series Criminal Minds. Cook's credits on television include Dead Like Me, Tru Calling, Higher Ground, Bluemoon, PSI Factor, Goosebumps, Elvis Meets Nixon, In His Father's Shoes, Laser Hawk and the TV movie Island Heat. She's also been on Blood Suckers II and The House Next Door. Cook was brought up in Whitby by her father Mike who works as the school's teacher, and her mother, Sandra she is a psychiatrist. She was raised with her three other siblings Angela, Nathan and Paul. Her family was Mormon or an a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she only takes on roles that aren't in conflict with her beliefs and beliefs of The Mormon Church. In her early years, she picked dance classes, including ballet and jazz classes. Her participation in various dance contests however it wasn't until she was 17 when she began to consider acting. Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze was the inspiration for her to turn into an actor. Cook tied the knot with her partner Nathan Andersen in August 2001. The couple first met Nathan Andersen at Utah Valley University and took a class on film. Mekhai Allan Andersen is the family's child. Mekhai was born on September 28, 2008. She lives in Los Angeles
