In 1957 the couple left the air force and Walter began his studies in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. The year 1964 was when Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television program named Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed themselves.
